How to find Myeongdong Cathedral in Seoul

Address: Myeongdong Cathedral, 74 Myeongdong-gil, Jeodong 1(il)-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul (based on google map)

It has been my habit to visit a church and light a candle everytime I travel just to give thanks for the safe travel and to pray for guidance.

And for travelers who has the same habit as I or for those who just wants to visit a church in Seoul, you can find one in Myeongdong.

Myeongdong has been so popular with many tourists. You can find here shopping districts, restaurants, coffee shops and so many places perfect for your visit. You can also find Myeongdong Cathedral here.

In order to get there, just go the subway station near you and ride the train for Line number 4 which is the blue line then stop at Myeongdong station, go to exit 9 and walk a couple minutes on the main road then you can find the street with many shopping stores. You just need to go straight.

You can also ask direction from tourist guides in the area. They usually wear red and they can speak English ( I don’t have a picture of them unfortunately). The government provides these people to assist tourists exploring Myeongdong.

At the end of this road, you can find Myeongdong Cathedral.

Taaadaaa!! 😁

(The rear area of the cathedral. On the right side, there’s a confession room)

Lighting area can be found at the back of the cathedral. One candle costs ₩1000.

There is a kneeling station near the statue of Mother Mary where you can pray.

After you visit this Cathedral, you can go to the shopping district (the street you just passed), eat at different restaurants or have a sip of coffee.

La vie ‘est belle
